September 9, 2020 (MLN): Pakistan Refinery Limited has restored the crude oil connectivity between the Keamari Terminal and the Refinery through pipeline via a temporary arrangement, after completing the necessary repair work.

As a result, the refinery has resumed its operations.

Nonetheless, the company is also working on the permanent solution to address the issue, and will make further communication in this regard.

For the unversed, the unusual heaving rain in Karachi on August 25, 2020, had washed away a portion of the Piles Bridge carrying the intra-city oil pipelines of the Company which connects Keamari Terminal to the Refinery at Korangi Creek for transportation of crude oil and product.

The incident resulted in severely damaging the aforesaid oil pipelines, causing a temporary shut-down of Refinery Operations.
