December 10, 2021 (MLN): Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) on Friday shared details on Federal Food Security Portal enabling importers and exporters to register themselves and initiate their trade requests without visiting the field offices for submission of applications, a government press release showed.
The portal was presented by PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor, DG IT- Operations Faisal Yousaf to Federal Minister Syed Fakhar Imam which will allow authorized persons to use mobile application at the entry/exit points for the inspection of commodities whereas the traders will receive Phytosanitary Certificate on the spot.
Overall, this portal will help the government in collecting first-hand information and make timely decisions on import and export policies.
The department will also be able to use this system for field officer performance monitoring tool and the payment will also be atomized by the PITB.

In a separate press release, a senior delegation led by Minister NFS&R Syed Fakhar Imam chaired meeting at the Pakistan Agricultural Storage & Services Corporation Head Office Lahore where he was briefed on details regarding progress of wheat imports and disposal thereof to different provinces/agencies.
