Pakistan’s benchmark, KSE – 100 Index, has responded to the news by dropping more than 1000 during the intraday trade. Investors were spooked early on during the day after index lost more than 200 points during the first two hours of open.

Investors had anticipated a strong response from the emergency National Security Committee meeting called today in retaliation of the ousted PM Nawaz Sharif’s interview to a local newspaper. However, the NSC Committee has termed the statements by disgruntled politician as oblivious and showing utter disregard for facts and figures.

The statements by the ousted Prime Minister were widely reported in the international media, especially the Indian media. Some analysts are of the opinion that, these statements could result in a strong global reaction from the world and project negative image of Pakistan on the global arena.
