The Prime Minister Mr. Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi is expected to announce the Tax Amnesty Scheme later in the day, in an effort to bring back the wealth of Pakistanis who have hoarded it abroad, with a tax component between 2 to 4 percent.

The propositions are currently under discussion in the first meeting of Economic Advisory Committee which commenced in Islamabad today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Khaqqan Abbasi where different economic issues are also expected to be debated including approval on some measures expected to be adopted in the upcoming federal budget.

According to the sources, it is highly likely that the much debated Tax Amnesty Scheme would be announced today in a press conference by Prime Minister at 6 pm in the evening after the meeting.

The Amnesty Scheme is likely to be endorsed by President who will approve it by a Presidential Ordinance.

The meeting is expected to end in the evening and final outcome will be revealed later via a press conference expected to be held right after the conclusion.
