PKR tumbles by 5.4 rupees in intraday trade

January 30, 2023 (MLN): The Pakistan rupee in the interbank was trading around Rs268 as of 11:53pm, depreciated by 5.4 rupees, according to the data from Mettis Global.

The dollar was being quoted at 267.97/268.97 while in the open market, the dollar is being traded at 268/271 per USD.

Since last week, the rupee lost its ground by over 38.3 rupees.

On Friday, the dollar at the interbank closed at a historic high of Rs262.6, and in the open market it was settled at Rs269.

To note, foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) dropped by $922.8 million to $3.68 billion during the week ended on January 20, 2022, according to the data released by the central bank on Thursday.
