Pakistan’s Yearly inflation at 12.63 Percent in December

January 1, 2020 (MLN):  Pakistan's Yearly Inflation Rate (New Base 2015-16) in December 2019 was 12.63 percent compared to 12.67 percent in November 2019 and 5.40 percent in December 2018.

The July-December average inflation is 11.11 percent compared to 5.98 percent from the corresponding period last year.

Market Expectation of Inflation for December was between 13.00 % and 12.41% with the average estimate of 12.59%.

On a monthly basis, CPI decreased by 0.34 percent in December compared to an increase of 1.34 percent in November.

Market expectation of Monthly change was between -0.54% and -0.01% with the average estimate at -0.38%.

CPI inflation Urban, increased by 12.0% on year-on-year basis in December 2019 as compared to an increase of 12.1% in the previous month and 5.9% in December 2018. On month-on-month basis, it decreased by 0.4% in December 2019 as compared to an increase of 1.0% in the previous month and a decrease of 0.3% in December 2018.

SPI inflation on YoY increased by 18.1% in December 2019 as compared to an increase of 20.2% a month earlier and an increase of 1.5% in December 2018. On MoM basis, it decreased by 2.0% in December 2019 as compared to an increase of 3.7% a month earlier and a decrease of 0.3% in December 2018.
