Pakistan’s Yearly inflation at 11.37 Percent in September

October 02, 2019 (MLN): Pakistan's Yearly Inflation Rate (New Base 2015-16) in September 2019 was 11.37 percent compared to 10.49 percent in August 2019 and 5.4 percent in September 2018.

The July-September average inflation is 10.09 percent compared to 6.10 percent from the corresponding period last year.

Market Expectation of Inflation for September was between 11.55 % and 10.70% with the average estimate of 11.09%.

On a monthly basis, CPI increased by 0.77 percent in September compared to 1.64 percent in August.

Market expectation of Monthly change was between 1.00% and 0.20% with the average estimate at 0.62%.

CPI inflation Urban, increased by 11.6% on year-on-year basis in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 10.6% in the previous month and 5.6% in September 2018. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.7% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 1.5% in the previous month and a decrease of 0.1% in September 2018.

CPI inflation Rural, increased by 11.1% on year-on-year basis in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 10.3% in the previous month and 5.1% in September 2018. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.8% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 1.9% in the previous month and 0.0% in September 2018.

SPI inflation on YoY increased by 14.7% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 12.1% a month earlier and an increase of 0.4% in September 2018. On MoM basis, it increased by 1.9% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 2.7% a month earlier and a decrease of 0.4% in September 2018.

WPI inflation on YoY basis increased by 15.9% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 14.1% a month earlier and an increase of 14.6% in September 2018. WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 0.1% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 1.2% a month earlier and a decrease of 1.5% in corresponding month of last year i.e. September 2018.

Core inflation measured by non-food non-energy Urban CPI (Core NFNE) increased by 8.4% on (YoY) basis in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 8.5% in the previous month and 7.0% in September 2018. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.4% in September 2019 as compared to increase of 0.4% in previous month, and an increase of 0.4% in corresponding month of last year i.e. September 2018.

Core inflation measured by non-food non-energy Rural CPI (Core NFNE) increased by 8.8% on (YoY) basis in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 8.8% in the previous month and 6.7% in September 2018. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.3% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 1.0% in previous month, and an increase of 0.3% in corresponding month of last year i.e. September 2018.

Core inflation, measured by 20% weighted trimmed mean Urban CPI (Core Trimmed) increased by 9.3% on (YoY) basis in September 2019 as compared to 8.5% in the previous month and by 5.8% in September 2018. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.6% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 0.6% in the previous month and an increase of 0.2% in corresponding month of last year i.e. September 2018.

Core inflation, measured by 20% weighted trimmed mean Rural CPI (Core Trimmed) increased by 9.6% on (YoY) basis in September 2019 as compared to 8.7% in the previous month and by 6.0% in September 2018. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.6% in September 2019 as compared to an increase of 1.2% in the previous month and an increase of 0.2% in corresponding month of last year i.e. September 2018.
