Pakistan’s weekly SPI increases by 0.18 percent

According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the Weekly SPI for the combined group increased by 0.18% compared to previous week (Aug 30, 2018) and increased by 2.18% compared to corresponding period from last year (Sept 07, 2017).

Of the 53 items monitored the average prices of 16 items registered an increase, 8 decreased while 29 remained unchanged.

SPI for the lowest income group rose by 0.3% over the index published on August 30, 2018, which is the highest increase on a week on week basis compared to other income groups. Meanwhile compared to the corresponding period of last year, SPI for lowest income group increased by 1.15%. On a year on year basis, the largest increase in SPI has been for the highest income group (above Rs.35000) of about 2.96 %.
