KSE 100 Index today closed the day below the 43000 level after it continues to extend the bearish tone in the markets as benchmark index lost more than 410 points during the day. The index heavy banking sector, however, remained bullish despite the negative direction of the market on aggregate.
Furthermore Hascol Petroleum today announced that is looking to partner with Total Parco Pakistan Limited to carry out joint operations at oil storage depots in Sahiwal and Daulatpur.
Meezan Banks remained in the limelight after SBP announced via a circular that it will allow Islamic Banks to offer long-term financing for plants and machinery. Moreover, in a surprise Hi-Tech Lubricants despite getting a approval from OGRA to apply for NOCs from districts to launch 26 petrol pumps across Punjab, HTL closed the session down -0.55%.
Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Technology & Communication (37.198 million), Chemical (24.157 million), and Textile Composite (23.584 million) with Power Generation & Distribution (8.893 million) and Automobile Assembler (8.351 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.
KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of -410.69 points up down 0.95%, closing in at 42942.35 points with index high-low range of 43451.31 – 42859.85.
KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 219.247 million shares, value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 7.646 billion.
