Pakistan’s KSE – 100 gains 608.73 points

Pakistan’s benchmark Karachi Stock Exchange 100 Index today closed positive despite a tumultuous political week. The index managed to close the session by gaining 608 points closing at 43528.51 points, up by 1.42%. Index staged an impressive recovery today, however, the investor participation remained lackluster as investor eye the political happenings in the country.

Commercial Banks, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies, Fertilizer, Cement and Power Generation & Distribution closed the session at the top after collectively adding more than 476 points.

Volume traded declined by 13.72% during the session after total volume clocked in at 67.412 million versus 78.132 million yesterday.

Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Engineering (27.004 million), Cement (20.619 million), and Chemical (18.408 million) with Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (8.674 million) and Automobile Assembler (6.073 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of +608.73 points up 1.42%, closing in at 43528.51 points with index high-low range of 43627.86 – 42384.18.

KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 190.434 million shares, value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 9.075 billion.

The index moved in the range of 1243.68 points.

64 companies closed up, whereas 23 were down at the day end.
