Pakistan’s exports to UAE display massive growth in July FY20

August 22, 2019: The United States of America (USA) remained the top export destinations of the Pakistani products during the first month of the current fiscal year, followed by United Arab Emirates (UAE) and China.

The total exports to the USA during the month of July FY20 were recorded at $373.5 million against the exports of $328 million in the same period last year showing an increase of 14 percent, according to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

This was followed by UAE, wherein Pakistan exported goods worth $172.8 million against the exports of $93.3 million last year, showing a massive growth of 85 percent.

China was at third where Pakistan exported products worth $167 million during the month under review against the exports of $152 million in July FY19, displaying an increase of 10% percent, SBP data revealed.

Among other countries, Pakistani exports to UK stood at $147.3 million against $153.7 million during July FY19 showing a decline of 4 percent while the exports to Germany remained stagnant at $116 million compared to same period last year.

The exports to Afghanistan declined by 15% to $108.6 million against the previous figure of $127.5 million whereas the exports to Netherlands (Holland) were recorded at $85.4 million against $80.4 million last year.

During the period under review, the exports to Spain were recorded at $81.4 million against $74.6 million whereas the exports to Italy stood at $70.2 million against $68 million.

Pakistan’s exports to Bangladesh were recorded at $66.9 million against $58.3 million last year whereas the exports to France stood at $40.7 million against $38.2 million in July FY19.
