KSE-100 index went through another session of turbulence as early morning trades brought the index down to almost 40900 levels. Lower than expected and average volume during the day prompted an early sell from investors. Cement, Power Generation & Distribution, and Automobile Assembler were the worst performing sectors during the day taking away more than 110 points by the day end.
Market participation for the 100 Index remained the same as of yesterday hovering around the 64 million level.
UBL -31.72, HBL -24.96, FCCL -21.31, HUBC -20.35 and PAEL -18.87 took away most points during the day with commercial bank stocks taking their toll on the index.
Engineering and Technology & Communication scrips witnessed most turnover during the day as the index volume remained the same as of yesterday’s close. Fertilizer, Food & Personal Care recorded lowest turnover during the day.
KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of -191.86 points down by 0.46%, closing at 41291.68 points. Index Volume was 64.93 million shares, value of shares traded was PKR 5.1 billion with index high-low range of 41483.54 – 40913.93.
The index movement was limited within the 569.61 points range.
29 companies closed up, whereas 54 were down at the day end.
