Pakistan Railways launches 10 trains, removes 384 illegal shops in Dudial

November 30, 2018: Launch of ten new passenger trains, increase number of freight trains, 90 percent of punctuality trains improved, adding of around 20 million passengers in the system and other positive steps by the department was a milestone achievements of Ministry of Railways in 100-day of the present government.

The performance report of Railways Ministry of 100-day had been presented to Prime Minister Imran Khan in which as many as 18 major initiatives were elaborated.

An official from the Railway Ministry said that the electricity supply system of the Railway Colonies across the country was handed over to Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) to save billions of rupees annually.

Regarding the anti-encroachment drive currently taking place in the country, Pakistan Railways has removed 384 illegal shops on railway land in Dudial (Chakwal).

“The present government is showing zero tolerance against land grabbers across the country and in this regard Pakistan Railways aggressively is vacating its crucial land from the encroachers,” an official in the Ministry of Railways told APP.

He said that Divisional Superintendent along with railway police and local administration has demolished the illegal shops estimated cost of the land is worth billions of rupees.

Giving detail, he said the department owns 1,67,690 acres land all over the country, out of which 90,326 has in Punjab, 39,428 in Sindh, 28,228 in Balochistan and 9,708 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
