Pakistan, IAEA discuss peaceful nuclear advancements

February 13, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan remains committed to utilizing nuclear technology for sustainable development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed during a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano in Islamabad.

He highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing partnership with the IAEA, emphasizing the country’s progress in nuclear power generation, industrial development, healthcare, and agriculture.

With the agency’s support, Pakistan has effectively leveraged nuclear technology to drive socio-economic growth.

Shehbaz Sharif commended the IAEA’s role in promoting nuclear energy as a key solution for mitigating climate change.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening collaboration with the agency for peaceful nuclear advancements, according to the press release.

Director General Rafael Mariano praised Pakistan’s constructive engagement with the IAEA and assured continued cooperation, reinforcing the shared vision of harnessing nuclear technology for global progress.
