Pakistan, Egypt sign MoU for establishment of Joint Working Group on trade

October 17, 2019: Ministry of Commerce and Egyptian Commercial Service have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for establishment of Pakistan-Egypt Joint Working Group on trade.

First meeting of the Joint Working Group on Trade was held on the sidelines of Pakistan-Egypt Trade Conference in Islamabad.

Pakistani delegation was headed by Secretary Commerce, Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera, while the Egyptian side was led by their First Undersecretary, Ahmed Anter.

Both the sides emphasized the importance of enhancing the current Trade volume to reflect the untapped trade and economic potential between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Ambassador Yaqoob, during his visit to Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said his country is keen to invest one billion dollars in Pakistan over the next one year.

He said this investment will be made in different sectors mainly in energy, building, pharmaceutical, halal food and tourism.
