Overseas Pakistanis remit USD 1.78 Billion in April 2019

May 10, 2019 (MLN): Overseas Pakistanis remitted USD 1.78 billion in the month of April 2019 compared to USD 1.75 billion in March 2019 showing an increase of USD 33.10 million over the previous month.

According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan the remittances increased by USD 100.03 million compared to April 2018.

The total amount remitted during July-April FY19 was USD 17.89 billion compared to USD 16.48 billion from the corresponding period of FY18 which showed an increase of USD 1.4 billion or 8.45 percent.

Saudi Arabia was the largest source of remittances having contributed USD 427.82 million followed by UAE with USD 372.43 million and U.K. providing USD 280.02 million.
