Overseas Pakistani remit USD 21.841 Billion in FY19

Jul 10, 2019 (MLN): Overseas Pakistanis remitted USD 1.65 billion in the month of June 2019 compared to USD 2.32 billion in May 2019 showing a decrease of USD 665.22 million over the previous month.

However, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan the remittances increased by USD 22.87 million when compared to June 2018.

The total amount remitted during July-June FY19 was USD 21.8415 billion compared to USD 19.9136 billion from the corresponding period of FY18 which showed an increase of USD 1,927.91 million or 9.68 percent.

UAE was the largest source of remittances having contributed USD 356.03 million followed by Saudi Arabia with USD 333.99 million and USA providing USD 276.76 million.
