Net selling via SCRA observes Rs.15 billion growth over the week

April 12, 2019 (MLN):  Overseas market participants tilted towards excess selling of securities in Pakistan’s capital markets during the week ended April 5, 2019.

According to weekly Specially Convertible Rupee Account (SCRA) position report released by the State Bank of Pakistan, net selling during the week expanded to Rs.18 million while last week’s figure was recorded at Rs.3 million.

The total sale of securities was recorded at Rs.4.724 billion while total purchase of securities was Rs.4.705 billion. While both the sums observed expansion over the week, the sales increased by a bigger amount that purchase.

Apart from this, the remittances flowing into these accounts were recorded at Rs.1.7 billion while the outgoing remittances stand at Rs.2 billion. Compared to last week, the net inflow of remittance improved this week.

SCRA’s closing balance for the week is at Rs.27.72 billion which is Rs.72 million lesser than prior week’s closing balance of Rs.27.79 billion.
