NEPRA raises power tariff by Rs 1.54 per unit

February 10, 2021 (MLN): The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday has notified an increase of Rs 1.5359 per unit in power tariff on account of variations in the fuel charges for the month of December 2020.

As per the notification, the reference fuel price was Rs 4.4602 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). However, the actual fuel price for December came in at Rs 5.9961 per kWh, an increase of Rs 1.5359 per kWh. The increase will be applicable to all consumer categories except for lifeline consumers.

The said adjustment shall be shown separately in consumers’ bills on the basis of units billed in the month of December 2020 by the ex-Wapda distribution companies. They will reflect the fuel charges adjustment for December 2020 in the billing month of February 2021.
