MLCF to begin commercial production on new 7,500 TPD plant in May, 2019

Expansion at Maple Leaf Cement Plant is currently undergoing civil work and plant & machinery is being installed to start operations on its new plant with an additional capacity of 7,500 tons per day under the brownfield expansion project by May, 2019.

According to a filing on the bourse, MLCF today announced that it has already established a “Main Letter of Credit (“LC”) for supply and setting up of engineering and equipment of complete cement plant from M/s. FLSmidth A/S Denmark, amounting to 79 million euros”.

Furthermore, the company informed that “till the quarter ended March 31, 2018, total 59 shipments with estimated value of 36 million Euros have arrived at plant site.”

Maple Leaf also reported that civil work on the plant site is also underway at full speed and contractors are already mobilized at the site. “The contract for the civil construction and mechanical erection work has been awarded to Ms. Descon Engineering Limited.”

The notice further mentioned that more than 35 percent work civil work has been completed on plant site, whereas, 5 percent work has been completed with respect to plant erection.
