Midday Report: KSE-100 index goes up by 1.06%

January 08, 2021 (MLN): The KSE-100 index has gained nearly 479 points during the first session of Friday and is currently trading at 45,823 points, i.e. 1.06% higher than the previous session.

Despite disturbance caused by the protests happening in various parts of Karachi over the Quetta incident, investors indulged in excessive buying owing to optimism created by the COVID-19 vaccine.  

So far, Commercial Banking sector has gained the most as it has contributed nearly 207 points to the benchmark index. Meanwhile, the scrips of UBL, MCB, HBL, BAHL, and DAWH are trading on top.  

The index has so far traded in the range of 480 points by touching an intra-day high of 45,824 points and a low of 45,344 points. Furthermore, the stocks of 62 companies are trading in green, 25 in red, whereas 3 companies have seen no change in their stock prices.
