Bulls remained dominant yet another day at the Pakistan Stock Exchange, as the KSE 100 index rose by 897 points to close at 41,795 points by the day end. This is the third consecutive session where the index has been gaining.
The index high was recorded at 41,896 points, while the low was at 40,897 points, hence a range of 998 points for the index today.
178.9 million shares were traded at KSE – 100 today, valuing at PKR 9.9 billion. This is a sharp increase over the volume being traded over the past couple sessions and indicates that the bulls are back in action again.
Commercial banks were the best performers yet again, followed by Cement, and oil & Gas Exploration Companies. The three sectors combined together, contributed a total of 481 points to the Index today, whereas 7.62 points were taken from the index by the Tobacco industry as it came out the worst performer for the day.
Within KSE – 100 Index, 77 companies advanced, 13 declined and 3 remained unchanged.
KSE All Shared hopped up by 539 points and concluded the session at 30,270 points. The maximum the index rose to was 30,303 points and it dropped as low as 29,730 points during the day.
336.5 million shares were traded during the day, worth PKR 13 billion.
Maintaining its position as the leader of sector turnover within KSE, Commercial Banks traded a total of 46.5 million shares during the day. Chemical with 41.3 million shares and Cement with 27.9 million share followed behind.
249 companies concluded the session in the green while 79 ended in the red and 17 remained unchanged.
