Continuing the negative trend initiated during the last week, index closed the day in red yet again today. The KSE – 100 index lost more than 586 points during the day as index participation nearly halved to 55.75 million to 108.96 at the last close.
Healthcare, Industrials and Energy caused the most damage during the session succumbing to profit taking after the recent bullish run.
Scrips such as TRG (-4.99%), PIBTL (-4.67%), PAEL (-3.53%), MTL (-1.46%), SEARL (-1.97%), SHFA (-3.95%), GLAXO (-2.51%), ABOT (-1.78%) took away the steam from index. POL (-3.11%), PPL (-1.53%), PSO (- 3.22%) and ATRL (-3.51%); energy stocks were also in the limelight after oil prices contained resulting from increase in number of US Rigs.
Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Textile Composite (21.390 million), Technology & Communication (12.686 million), and Engineering (11.849 million) with Chemical (6.262 million) and Power Generation (5.244 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.
KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of -586.23 points down by -1.37%, closing in at 42347.49 points with index high-low range of 42933.72 – 42270.38.
KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 130.446 million shares, value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 5.817 billion.
The index movement was limited within the 663.34 points range.
23 companies closed up, whereas 67 were down at the day end.
