Index continued on yesterday’s bullish momentum as investors began buying stocks on value hunting amidst attractive valuations. Furthermore, investor sentiment was bolstered by the positive reports emanating from the Amnesty Scheme’s implementation.
Adding to that, the individual scrips performed mix following their respective announcements. Pioneer Cement (PIOC) was up 2.2 percent after announcing completion of capacity enhancement at its mill. However, Summit Bank limited (SMBL) was down 2.79 percent despite announcing progress on proposed merger with Sindh Bank Limited.
Volume traded at KSE –100 index increased by 14.34 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 103.829 million versus 90.880 million yesterday.
E&P, Cement, Fertilizer and OMC Companies during today’s session was at the Lead today after collectively contributing more than 343.07 points.
Sector-wise all share index top sector turnover was led by Cement (61.277 million), Commercial Banks (36.193 million), and Chemicals (25.121 million).
KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of 471.90 points up by 1.14 percent, closing in at 41,717.99 with index high – low range of 41,817.21 – 41,246.09
KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 233.958 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 8.718 billion.
The index moved in the range of 571.12 points.
68 companies closed up, whereas 27 were down at the day end.
