KSE-100 index trades in consolidation, loses 52 pts

February 13, 2019 (MLN): The KSE-100 index traded in consolidation and shredded 52 points by the end of today’s session, ultimately closing at 40,544 points.  

Sectors contributing to the underperformance include Fertilizers (-18pts), Automobile (-14pts) and Chemical (-11pts), whereas Cement sector provided some relief by contributing 34 pts to the index.

Throughout the session, the index moved between an intraday high of 40,839 points and intraday low of 40,484 points. Besides, nearly 102 million shares were traded today for the scrips listed on the benchmark index with their total value recorded at Rs 5.9 billion.

The broader KSE All Share index also failed to sustain the gains it made yesterday as it ended the day in consolidation. It lost around 32 points and closed at 29,375 points. Nearly 160 million shares were traded today, having a value at Rs 7.2 billion.
