KSE – 100 index loses 79 points

KSE – 100 today closed lower after it lost more than 79 points to close at 45004 points slightly above the 45k level. The index opened on a dreary note and went through a range-bound session as investors scrap for positive triggers from the economy.

Volume traded increased by 82.89 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 104.032 million versus 56.880 million on Friday.

Commercial Banks, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies, and Miscellaneous sector companies closed the session at the bottom today after collectively taking away more than 149 points.

Sector-wise all share index top ten sector turnover was led by Power Generation & Distribution (31.842 million), Food & Personal Care Products (31.618 million), and Chemical (30.343 million) with Technology & Communication (8.881 million) and Transport (8.860 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of 79.38 points down 0.19 percent, closing in at 45004.19 points with index high – low range of 45307.45 – 44936.

KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 235.403 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 9.427 billion.

The index moved in the range of 371.33 points.

49 companies closed up, whereas 41 were down at the day end.
