KSE-100 index loses 100 pts in the last session of outgoing year

December 31, 2018 (MLN): The KSE 100 index lost 100 points by the end of today’s trading activity. Market remained volatile throughout the session. After breaking 37,000 level at start of the day, the index recovered during the final hour of the session and closed at 37,066.67.

UBL (-4.38%), LUCK (-4.59%) and ENGRO (-2.33%) were the major laggards which collectively contributed 160 points towards today’s decline.  On the flip side, MCB (+2.21%), POL (+2.31%) and PPL (+1.29%) collectively added 87 points to benchmark Index.

The index jiggled between an intraday high of 37,206 points and an intraday low of 36,802 points, engulfed within a range of 403 points, Nearly 164 million shares were traded today for the scrips listed on the benchmark index with their total value recorded at Rs 9.7 billion.

The KSE All Share gained around 42 points by the day end and closed in at 28,043 points.

Over 226 million shares of the scrips listed within the broader KSE All Share Index were traded today, with their value recorded at Rs 11 billion.
