KSE-100 index gains 83 points

October 3, 2022 (MLN): KSE-100 benchmark index gained 83 points (0.20%), to close at 41,128.67 points on Monday.

At the start, the market opened on a positive note and experienced a bullish trend by hitting a high of 41,400.43 after the announcement of the HUBC dividend of Rs15.5 per share.

Out of 91 companies’ shares traded today 37 companies recorded gains and 52 companies sustained losses and 2 companies’ shares remain unchanged.

In terms of sectors, most of the positive contribution came from power gencos, technology, oil & gas, food & personal care, and chemical which cumulatively added 199.65 points to the index tally by the day’s end.

The index witnessed a volume of 121.80 million, an increase of 5.30% from 128.62mn shares traded on Friday last week. Meanwhile, the volume leaders on the benchmark index were HUBC (30.84mn), TRG (15.99mn), HBL (13.17mn), UNITY (12.36mn), and AVN (6.27mn).

The scrips which gained the most during the session included: PAKT (1.01%), INDU (0.86%), HUBC (7.50%), MARI (0.26%), and SYS (0.90%). On the other hand, the stocks that emerged as net losers during the day included COLG (1.24%), PSMC (4.76%), ATLH (2.56%), ARPL (1.59%), and POML (4.32%).
