KSE – 100 index gains 384.77 points

KSE 100 continued on its bullish trend today, continuing the weeklong rally. Chemicals, and financials led the volume during the day as index settled above the 45000 level. Day commenced on a positive note trading in the range of 386 points, helped up by Cement stocks.

In bourse announcements, Ghandhara Nissan Industries Limited has announced that the company has been awarded “Category-B Brownfield Investment Status” by the Ministry of Industries and Production under the Automotive Development Policy 2016 – 21. The award will allow Ghandhara Nissan to revive an existing assemble and facility for manufacturing of Datsun Passenger Cars.

Volume traded increased by 7.84 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 89.093 million versus 82.615 million on Friday.

Commercial Banks, Cement, Fertilizer, and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies closed the session at the top today after collectively contributing more than 355 points.

Sector-wise all share index top ten sector turnover was led by Chemical (40.310 million), Technology & Communication (29.317 million), and Cement (28.002 million) with Power Generation & Distribution (9.903 million) and Vanaspati & Allied Industries (8.746 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of 384.27 points up 0.86 percent, closing in at 45030.22 points with index high – low range of 45032.41 – 44645.95.

KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 228.118 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 9.373 billion.
