KSE – 100 Index gains 119.49 points

KSE – 100 index today reversed its bearish run to pick up and close the day in green after closing seven sessions in red throughout the last two weeks. The index lost a total 119 points closing in at 45801.73 points, down 0.26 percent.

The Index was embroiled in earnings releases from multiple scrips, including FCCL, ISL, BAHL and ACPL.

FCCL profit after taxation jumped up by 7.69 percent to Rs. 2.122 billion up from 1.972 billion during the same period last year. The company reported an EPS of Rs. 1.54 vs. an EPS of Rs 1.43 during the nine months ending March, 2017. 

ACPL reported bottom line profits down by 18.39 percent to 1.826 billion during the outgoing nine months against 2.238 billion during the same period last year.

Volume traded at KSE – 100 index decreased by 35.10 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 73.647 million versus 68.244 million yesterday.

Cement, Pharmaceuticals, and Chemical scrips during today’s session were at the top after collectively adding more than 101.79 points.

Sector-wise all share index top ten sector turnover was led by Chemical (25.855 million), Cement (19.153 million), and Commercial Banks (10.849 million) with Textile Composite (4.541 million) and Tech & Communication (4.215 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of 119.49 points up 0.26 percent, closing in at 45801.73 points with index high – low range of 45881.84 – 45484.94.

KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 147.379 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 7.558 billion.

The index moved in the range of 396.90 points.

57 companies closed up, whereas 35 were down at the day end.
