100 Index today suffered on the back of Rupee depreciation painting the market red. Volume slumped today at the Index after investor worries over mounting macro imbalances continue to increase.
Analysts, experts and other industry observers warn that the caretaker government is making the last minute adjustments as a preliminary to an IMF Bailout program.
Volume traded at KSE – 100 index decreased by 16.88 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 86.792 million versus 104.430 million yesterday.
Commercial Banks, Cement, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies and Fertilizer companies during today’s session were at the bottom after collectively taking away more than 468.89 points.
Sector-wise all share index top sector turnover was led by Commercial Banks (21.162 million), Cement (18.953 million), and Miscellaneous (11.458 million).
KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of -702.26 points down by 1.60 percent, closing in at 43228.90 with index high – low range of 43968.3 – 431443.00.
KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 137.527 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 5.947 billion.
The index moved in the range of 825.33 points.
8 companies closed up, whereas 75 were down at the day end.
