Markets faltered on yesterday’s rally after it closed up by a meagre addition of 27.43 points. The index achieved an intraday points high of 316 points but couldn’t hold on to the momentum.

Activity wise, more than 18 million shares of Faysal Bank (FABL) were traded in the market today.

Volume traded at KSE – 100 index decreased by 16.7 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 76.640 million versus 92.108 million yesterday.

Commercial Banks, Power Generation and Tobacco Sector’s Companies during today’s session were at the lead today after collectively contributing more than 119.08 points.

Fertilizer, E&P, Cement and Insurance Sector’s companies during today’s session was at the bottom today after collectively taking away more than 87.31 points.

Sector-wise all share index top sector turnover was led by Commercial Banks (30.757 million), Cement (13.843 million) and Investment Bank and Securities (11.83 million)

KSE – 100 Index at the day end moved a total of 27.43 points up 0.06 percent, closing in at 42,772.25 with index high – low range of 43,060.68– 42,676.51 .

KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 131.332 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 5.526 billion.

The index moved in the range of 384.17 points.

38 companies closed up, whereas 48 were down at the day end.
