KSE – 100 gains 39 points

KSE – 100 index traded flat during the day after gaining just 39 points during the day. Banking sector went negative as Fertilizer stocks pulled the index upward after price gain in the international fertilizer prices. Furthermore, refinery scrips took the index upward after news of ease in furnace oil sales helped stocks pick up.

Index participation witnessed a significant decline during the day clocking in at 42.9 million shares down -62.5% from previous session. In lieu of the participation, index participation declined by more than 74.4% down to 27.52 million shares.

Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Technology & Communication (20.80 million), Power Gen & Distribution (8.63 million), and Engineering (8.00 million) with Cement (3.99 million) and Glass & Ceramics (3.94 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of +39.44 points up by 0.10%, closing in at 40049.80 points.

Index Volume was at 47.28 million shares, value of shares traded reached PKR 3.87 billion with index high-low range of 40131.37 – 39931.52.

The index movement was limited within the 199.85 points range.

44 companies closed up, whereas 36 were down at the day end.
