KSE-100 closes positive after losing points for seven consecutive sessions

The KSE-100 closed positive in today’s session gaining more than 280 points at the session close. The session has been taking a hammering for the last two weeks as it has been closing in red for last seven sessions consecutively.

The close comes as sigh of relief as value investor’s jump in to buy into the market at attractive valuations.

In corporate alerts, Pakistan International Container Terminal Ltd. declared a Dividend of Rs. 7.5/- per share and reported an EPS of 12.89 for the period ended June 30, 2017, whereas Bank of Punjab reported an EPS of 1.41/- for the period ended June 30, 2017.

In other news, Bahria Town announced to acquire up to 6,357,437 Ordinary Shares (14.42%) of Escorts Investment Bank Limited at Offer Price of 15.87/- share.

KSE-100 gained a total of 287.51 points during the day, closing on 44186.96 points. Index touched an intraday high of 44332.51 points whereas fell to a low of 43781.57points.

Total companies traded in the session were 377 against the last session’s tally of 392 companies. 217 closed positive and 145 closed negative, whereas 15 were unchanged.
