January 21, 2019: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agriculture Department has unveiled 100.75 million rupees incentives package for sugarcane growers of the province to increase per acre’s production.

The package will provide financial support to timely counter diseases in wake of climate change challenges.

An official in Agriculture Department KP said the incentives will be provided to the farmers in the shape of nurseries, kits, machines and technical support to increase and protect their crops.

He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is blessed with variety of climates suitable for cultivation of all kinds of crops.

Traditional cultivation techniques of this crop are laborious, costly and water exhaustive and per hectare yield of sugarcane of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is low compared to other provinces of the country, he added further
