KE evaluates NEPRA’s decision on Multi Year Tariff

March 14, 2022 (MLN): K-Electric Limited (KE) is evaluating the decision undertaken by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Multi-Year Tarif (MYT) in response to the company’s petition, for the control period July 2016 to June 2023 and will take further action, in accordance with laws of Pakistan, the company filing on PSX showed on Monday.

To recall, NEPRA issued the final decision, dated July 5 2018, in the matter of KE MYT for the control period July 2016 to June 2023, subsequently notified by the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) through SRO 576(1)/2019 dated May 22, 2019.

MYT decision includes a mid-term review mechanism, to be carried out after completion of 3.5 years of the tariff control period (December 2019), wherein certain assumptions of the MYT Decision were to be reviewed /reassessed.

Accordingly, the company had filed its Mid-Term Review petition view on March 11, 2020 (MTR Petition) and in response to the company's petition, NEPRA issued a determination on March 1, 2022 (MTR Decision).
