IRSA releases 62,700 cusecs water

March 11, 2019: Indus River System Authority (IRSA) Monday released 62,700 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 59,800 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1,393.69 feet, which was 7.69 feet higher than its dead level of 1,386 feet. Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 18,000 cusecs and outflow as 20,000 cusecs.       

The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1,124.35 feet, which was 84.35 feet higher than its dead level of 1,040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 19,100 cusecs and 20,000 cusecs respectively.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 38,800 cusecs, 32,900 cusecs and 7,100 cusecs respectively.

Similarly from the Kabul River, 6,200 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 3,400 cusecs from the Chenab River at Marala.

The total water storage capacity stood at 0.928 million acre feet.
