IRSA releases 128,700 cusecs water

April 12, 2019: Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Friday released 128,700 cusecs water from various rim stations against inflow of 185,300 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1,407.88 feet, which was 21.88 feet higher than its dead level of 1,386 feet. Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 38,700 cusecs and outflow as 25,000 cusecs.

The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1,129.50 feet, which was 89.50 feet higher than its dead level of 1,040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 62,900 cusecs and 20,000 cusecs respectively.

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 58,800 cusecs, 33,900 cusecs and 10,800 cusecs respectively.

Similarly, 57,400 cusecs water was released from the Kabul River at Nowshera and 16,000 cusecs from the Chenab River at Marala.

The average storage stood at 1.387 million acre feet.
