Higher finance cost drags down BATA’s profitability by 74%

April 25, 2019 (MLN): BATA Pakistan Limited has posted a 74% decline in its profits after tax for the quarter ended on March 31st 2019, with EPS recorded at Rs 5.84, compared to same quarter last year.

This decline in earnings were attributable to massive increase in finance cost which was 12 times higher than the cost incurred in  corresponding period last year.

During the quarter, company also witnessed a  decline in tax payments and  other expenses by  38% and 30% respectively, but it failed to pull the company's profitability up.
