Government sets export targets for next five years

October 1, 2020 (MLN): The government on Thursday has set export targets for the next five years.

In this regard, the government has compiled three scenarios for next five years depending upon economic conditions, global situation and currency movement.

Exports numbers would range depending on the export and domestic prices.

For FY21, exports under scenario 1 have been set at $22.81 billion. In five years or by FY25, it might reach to $28.13 billion.

Under scenario 2, export target for FY21 has been set at $23.68 billion which could reach $33.89 billion in the next five years.

Export target for FY21 under scenario 3 is $24.14 billion which might touch $37.36 billion by FY25.
