Government releases Rs.33.8 billion for development projects under PSDP 2018-19

The government has released over Rs.33.765 billion under its Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2018-19 for various ongoing and new schemes against the total allocations of Rs.1, 030 billion for the current fiscal year.

The released funds include Rs.21.837 billion for federal ministries and Rs.11.818 billion for special areas, according to the latest data released by Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform.

Out of these allocations, the government has released Rs.4.7 billion for Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission for which Rs.30.4 billion have been allocated for the year 2018-19, whereas for Maritime Affairs Division, an amount of Rs.414.5 million has been released out of total allocation of Rs.10.1 billion.

The government released all of its allocated funds of Rs.3.4 billion for Railways Division, whereas an amount of Rs.2.6 billion has been released for Interior Division.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) received Rs.4.6 billion out of a total allocation of Rs.46.7 billion while an amount of Rs.2.8 billion has been released for the Communication Division (other than NHA) for which the government has earmarked Rs.14.5 billion for the current fiscal year.

An amount of Rs.821.9 million has been released for Planning, Development and Reform Division and Rs.553.9 million has been released for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division.

The government released Rs.19.5 million for Narcotics Control Division out of its total allocation of Rs.251.2 million whereas it provide Rs.380 million to Defense Production Division.

An amount of Rs.210.5 million has been released for Aviation Division, Rs.201.5 million for Cabinet Division, Rs.321.3 million for Capital Administration and Development Division and Rs.290 million for Information Technology and Telecom Division.

Likewise, the government released Rs.135.5million for Law and Justice Division and Rs.224.9 million for Revenue Division.

In addition, the government also released Rs.4.7 billion for AJK (block and other projects) out of its allocations of Rs.29.9 billion for the FY 2018-19 whereas for Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA), it released Rs.110 million out of total allocation of Rs.8.5 billion.

The Planning Commission of Pakistan has been following a proper mechanism for the release of funds and accordingly funds are released as per given mechanism.

The commission releases 20% of funds in first quarter (July-September), 20% in second quarter (October-December), 25% third quarter (January-March) and 35% in fourth quarter (April-June).
