Gold ticks up by Rs100 per tola

January 5, 2021 (MLN): The demand for gold remained steady in the domestic bullion market as the price of 24-karat gold inched up by Rs100 to close at Rs126,250 per tola, data revealed by Karachi Sarafa and Jewellers Association showed on Wednesday.

Similarly, the price of 10-gram of 24k gold witnessed a slight increase of Rs85 and was traded at Rs108,239 while the 10gm 22k gold was valued at Rs99,219.

On the contrary, the price of 24-karat silver remained stagnant at Rs1,460. Likewise, the price of 10-gram silver stayed flat at Rs1,251.71.

On the back of rising Omricon cases, the demand for safe-haven gold in the international market moved up as the price per ounce gold observed a surge of $17 to settle the trade at $1,820. Meanwhile, silver was traded at $23.10 an ounce.
