Gold hits Rs304,000 per tola after Rs2,500 surge

February 13, 2025 (MLN): Gold prices in Pakistan surged to a historic high on Thursday, with 24-karat gold reaching Rs304,000 per tola after a Rs2,500 increase.

Similarly, 24-karat gold per 10-gram was sold at Rs260,631 after a gain of Rs2,144, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price of 22-karat gold was also quoted higher at Rs238,920 per 10-gram.

Similarly, silver prices rose in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,367 per tola (+Rs55) and Rs2,886 per 10-gram (+Rs47).

Globally, spot gold traded near $2,917 an ounce, up $10.9 or 0.37% from the previous session.

Gold rose on Thursday, supported by a weaker U.S. dollar and growing worries over U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff plans, which could heighten global trade tensions, while investors eyed another set of inflation data.
