Gold edges lower by Rs100 per tola

January 6, 2021 (MLN): The demand for yellow metal dropped down in the domestic bullion market as the price of 24-karat gold edges lower by Rs100 to close at Rs126,100 per tola, the data revealed by Karachi Sarafa and Jewellers Association showed today.

Similarly, the price of 10-gram of 24k gold also declined by Rs86 and was traded at Rs108,153 while the 10gm 22k gold was valued at Rs99,140.

On the contrary, the price of 24-karat silver remained stagnant at Rs1,460. Likewise, the price of 10-gram silver stayed flat at Rs1,251.71.

In the international market, gold witnessed a dip of $19 to stand at $1,801 as the minutes of the U.S. Federal Reserve's meeting hints interest rates jump which would boost dollar and T-bills. Meanwhile, silver was traded at $22.35 an ounce.
