GDP of the world’s most advanced economies sliced by the pandemic

September 1, 2020 (MLN): GDP of the world’s most advanced economies sliced by the pandemic as the quarter April -June 2020 shows scary numbers where all the economies exhibited record declines.

India’s economy during April to June 2020 recorded a decline of 23.9% whereas, UK, France and Italy down by 20.4%, 13.8% and 12.4% respectively.

Furthermore, Canada down by 12%, Germany by 10.1% while USA and Japan contracted by 9.5% 7.6% respectively.

On the other hand, so called birthplace of Pandemic or COVID-19, China registered a growth of 3.2%.

Overall, this was the worst economic performance and biggest contraction globally among the major economies of the world in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic.
