Over the last two decades, there has been a big change in the world export markets. The focus has shifted from the traditional western countries markets to new emerging markets in Africa, Asia, Central Asia, China and India.

Making trade between economies easier has become important for business, said President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Ghazanfar Bilour in a statement issued here on Friday.

He emphasized the need for taking certain steps for ease of doing business including improvement in business environment. Pakistan ranks at 147 out of 190 countries in cross border trading, which called for increasing this trade as the regional economic blocks had emerged as a very successful model for the economic growth.

There was also need for better investment policies to attract global capital especially in export sectors, he said.   Bilour maintained that the development of the country's economy was subject to efficiency of agricultural sector and value-addition was required to benefit from real potential.
