Foreigners inject net Rs5.7bn via SCRA during a week

September 10, 2021 (MLN): Foreign investors indulged in excessive buying during the week ended September 3, 2021 as they injected net amount of Rs5.7billion in local debt market against the withdrawal of Rs6bn net in the previous week  

According to a weekly report on Special Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the gross purchase of securities during the week was recorded at Rs16.5bn, which is around 2.72x higher than the figures recorded last week. Similarly, the total sale of securities stood at Rs16.5bn, which is 16 percent higher than the prior week.

Moreover, remittances flowing into the SCRA jumped by 17% WoW as it stands at Rs3.5bn, versus an inflow of Rs3bn last week. While its outflow has been reported at Rs3.9bn, showing a growth of 41% WoW.

Income from dividends credited into the SCRA account amount to Rs40million, compared to Rs100mn a week earlier.

Meanwhile, the closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs29.82bn, which marks a decline of 17% or Rs.6bn over the week.
