Foreign investors withdrew net Rs1.66bn from local equities

August 27, 2021 (MLN): The net sale of securities for the week ended August 20, 2021 clocked in at Rs.1.66 billion, whereas last week, the accounts observed a net purchase of Rs.252.49 million.

According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the gross sale of securities during the week was recorded at Rs.21 billion, which is around 47.3 percent higher than the figures recorded last week. Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.19.3 billion, which is 33.3 percent higher than the prior week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities rose by Rs.4.83 billion while the net sale of securities increased by Rs.6.74 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.1.35 billion, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.3.31 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.29.57 billion, which marks a rise of Rs.321.06 million over the week.
