Foreign Investors back to being Net Sellers in week ending June 29 2018

According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan showing the weekly position of Special Convertible Rupee Accounts and Activities (SCRA), foreign investors were seen to be net sellers in the capital markets for the week ending June 29, 2018. 

Foreign investors are back into the selling trend as net sale of securities was reported at Rs 3.272 Billion against a temporary change in foreign investment trend when net purchases worth Rs 1.337 Billion were recorded in the week before.

Closing Balance in the SCRA increased by Rs 659 Million, and was reported at Rs 27.54 Billion against 26.881 Billion Rupees last week.

Total Inflows fell to Rs 16.669 Billion against Rs 19.724 Billion last week while total outflows declined to Rs 16.01 Billion from Rs 19.595 Billion in the previous week.

Remittances coming into the country fell by about 53% during the week ending June 29, 2018 compared to an increase of 5% in remittances sent out from the country.

Gross Sale of Securities increased by 4.88% while gross purchase of securities by foreign investors fell by a significant 28.8% compared to the week before.
