Foreign Direct Investment slides by 45% in July

Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) coming into the country during the month of July 2018 have fallen down to $188 million, down 45% from last month as foreign investors had brought in $341.7 million worth of foreign direct investments during June.

Compared to the corresponding month of last year, i.e. July 2017, FDI fell by 61.3% as last year in July, the country saw FDI inflows worth $284.6 million.

FDI leaving the country, on the other hand, grew by 20% from last month as outflows were recorded at $60.2 million in July 2018, compared to outflows of $50.2 million in June.

Compared to July last year, outflows increased by $9.3 million, or 18.4%.
